LaFevers Furniture;
It's a Family Tradition.
It
was the summer of 1960, and Troy and Wilma LaFevers were young and anxious
to own their own business. They rented a small corner in the building that
eventually became what consumers today know as LaFevers Furniture. That small
start grew to a successful business, which sold appliances, furniture, and
carpet. Troy and Wilma eventually moved on to other business ventures and
their oldest son, Denton became the owner of the store in 1973. He met LouAnn
Watson of Sapulpa, and they were married in 1974, and they have worked side
by side for over 30 years. In 1998 their
oldest son Chad joined the company after four years of college golf at ORU.
He quickly proved to be a natural for retail. “Chad has been a
big part of our success over the past 10 years,” said LouAnn LaFevers.
In June of 2005, the LaFevers' youngest son, Jon, moved back to Sapulpa from
Oklahoma City and began working full time. He received his bachelors in business
administration from NSU in Tahlequah. Previously he worked in the Accounts
Payable department of Chesapeake Energy in downtown Oklahoma City
“It is an honor to be a part of a business with such a great history. My goal
is to carry on the trend of being a leader in service, by continually
understanding the importance of our customers and their home furnishing needs,” said
Jon LaFevers. Jon is married to Rebecca LaFevers who is a local State Farm agent.
Although the furniture
store is undergoing major changes, the LaFevers say one thing will stay the
same.” The thing that has kept us in business for over 40
years is our personalized service. We're committed to creating personal
relationships with our customers and we want to make sure they are pleased
with their experience at our store,” said Chad LaFevers. |
